We invite students from all over the world with outstanding performance to study at HKBU. A number of scholarships are available for pursuing postgraduate studies:

 

Research Postgraduate Programmes

  1. Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme

The Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS) is established by the Hong Kong Research Grants Council (RGC) with an aim to attract the best and brightest students from all over the world to pursue their PhD studies in Hong Kong.

The Fellowship provides each successful scholarship recipient an annual stipend of HK$309,600 (approximately US$39,600) and a conference and research-related travel allowance of HK$12,900 (approx. US$1,650) per year for a maximum of three years plus the University’s provision of HK$20,000 (approx. US$2,560) for the entire study period.

  1. United Board Faculty Scholarship Program

The United Board Faculty Scholarship Program, offered by United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia, is provided to individuals who are full-time employees of a university in the United Board network in Asia, to pursue postgraduate study for faculty enrichment and development.

Selected candidates may receive scholarship awards of up to US$10,000 per year.

Taught Postgraduate Programmes

  1. International Postgraduate Scholarships from School of Business

The scholarships are applicable to outstanding international students of the following programmes (full-time):

  • Master of Science in Business Management
  • Master of Science in Applied Accounting & Finance
  • Master of Science in Applied Economics
  • Master of Science in Corporate Governance and Compliance
  • Master of Accountancy

Successful scholarship recipient will receive full tuition waiver and HK$100,000 living allowance (approx. US$ 12,820).

  1. MScBM Diversity Contribution Scholarship

The Diversity Contribution Scholarship is available to Master of Science in Business Management (MScBM) full-time new entrants who can enhance the diversity of the Programme. Applicants are assessed on a broad range of criteria, including international exposure, cultural experiences, overseas education, work experience, special achievement and talents.   The scholarship amount ranges from HK$50,000 to full tuition waiver.

  1. International Student Scholarship Scheme of MA in Language Studies

This scholarship is provided to outstanding incoming Master of Arts in Language Studies international students. Successful scholarship recipient will receive 15% to 100% of the total tuition fee.

 

  1. SLM Scholarship for New Admitted Students from Asian Countries

A maximum of two scholarships equivalent to one-year full-time tuition fee are awarded to new admitted outstanding students from Asian Countries (except Hong Kong, Macau and Mainland China) studying the Master of Social Sciences in Sport and Leisure Management programme. Awardees should be former or current sport or leisure administrator, or practitioner, or athlete who has participated in major international sporting events.

  1. Hinrich Global Trade Leader Scholarship

The Hinrich Global Trade Leader Scholarship, offered by the Hinrich Foundation, is provided to individuals who wish to develop a career in trade through their studies in Business and Journalism:

(a) MSc in Entrepreneurship & Global Marketing (for AY2018/19):

  • Open for citizens of the Philippines.
  • Successful scholarship recipient will receive full financial support for tuition fee, monthly allowance, visa and round-trip airfares.

(b) MA in International Journalism Studies:

  • The scholarship is available for applicants from the following countries only: Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal, the Philippines and Vietnam.

  1. United Board Faculty Scholarship Program

  1. MSc Fellowship Scheme from Department of Computer Science

The MSc Fellowship scheme supports outstanding students in the world to enroll in MSc in Information Technology Management (ITM) or MSc in Advanced Information Systems (AIS) for enhancing multi-cultural exchanges among the students of these programmes.   1. Scholarship for Prospective English Teachers

The Scholarship for Prospective English Teachers (the Scholarship) is set up by the Education Bureau (EDB), the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region as one of a series of measures to enhance the professionalism of English teachers in Hong Kong. The aim of the Scholarship is to attract persons proficient in English to pursue relevant local bachelor degree programmes and/ or teacher training programmes which will qualify them to become English teachers on graduation.
