The Hong Kong Sociological Association’s 26th Annual Conference will be held on 6 December 2025 at HKBU, under the theme "Navigating a Changing World: Comparative Perspectives on Social Structures and Inequalities." Professor Man-Yee Kan, from the Department of Sociology at the University of Oxford, has been invited to speak on the topic: "Gender Differences in Leisure Time in East Asian and Western Societies." The conference is now calling for abstracts. The deadline for abstract submission is 19 September 2025, with a maximum length of 300 words. Students are warmly encouraged to share their insights and be part of this important dialogue shaping the future of sociology.

Language Centre is organizing sixth research presentation competition for HKBU UGC-funded research postgraduate students: the Three-Minute-Thesis (3MT) Speech Competition. Participants are required to submit a 3-minute video presentation of their research in layperson-friendly language.
