The Faculty of Science and the Alumni Affairs Office proudly present this talk series that highlights the significant contributions our pre-eminent faculty members, professors and alumni have made in their remarkable journey of knowledge discovery. Through this faculty-students-alumni engagement initiative, we hope to shine light on the achievement of our faculty members, nurture future-shaping students and engage alumni who bring transformative impact to society. The recent development of Al has opened up new opportunities in different fields, ranging from creative industry to healthcare sector. The talk will provide a gentle introduction to Generative Al (GenAl) and cover some of the recent work on developing GenAl solutions for healthcare, e.g. predictive analytics on EHR, X-ray report generation, etc. The talk will then be followed by a panel discussion on the future trend of GenAl where the panelists include two alumni who are taking leading positions in Al solution provider and Al deployment in the industry.

Language Centre is organizing sixth research presentation competition for HKBU UGC-funded research postgraduate students: the Three-Minute-Thesis (3MT) Speech Competition. Participants are required to submit a 3-minute video presentation of their research in layperson-friendly language. Exceptional presenters will have the opportunity to compete in the grand final on 13 May (Tuesday), where winners can secure a research travel grant of up to 8000 HKD for international conference attendance or research publication expenses.
