Research Postgraduate Students Orientation Welcomes Over 200 New Students
On August 29, 2024, more than 200 new research postgraduate students gathered at the Hong Kong Baptist University for an engaging orientation. This event marked an important milestone in their academic journeys, fostering a sense of community and support among the incoming cohort.
Prof Lyu Aiping, the Vice President (Research and Development) cum Dean of Graduate School, delivered a heartfelt welcome speech, encouraging students as they embark on their new paths. "As you embark on this exciting new journey, remember that you are not alone. You are part of our vibrant community of scholars, researchers, and thinkers who are here to support you, guide you, and inspire you every step of the way," he stated, emphasizing the importance of sharing thoughts with faculty members and peers.
Echoing the Vice President's welcome remarks, Dr Cheung King-ho, the Executive Associate Dean of Graduate School, highlighted the university's commitment to student’s well-being by providing a supportive and nurturing environment. A representative from the Graduate School shared a detailed overview of the academic journey ahead, familiarizing students with the various milestones they would encounter during their studies. The orientation concluded with a reception, offering students a perfect opportunity for them to connect with fellow students, administrators, and professors. This vibrant gathering not only fostered friendships among students but also opened doors for future collaborations.
