Academic Requirements

Taught Postgraduate Degree

The awarding of a postgraduate degree/diploma/certificate (by coursework) is on the basis of fulfilment of the following graduation requirements and the approval of the Senate. A candidate should have:

  1. completed the required number of units for an approved programme of study;
  2. submitted all coursework required;
  3. presented a written dissertation/project approved by the Department/Programme (if any);
  4. passed all requisite examinations; and
  5. obtained a cGPA of at least 2.50.

Professional Doctorate Degree

The awarding of a professional doctorate is on the basis of fulfilment of the following graduation requirements and the approval of the Senate. A candidate should have:

  1. completed the required number of units for an approved programme of study;
  2. submitted all coursework required;
  3. successfully presented and defended the thesis/portfolio of works;
  4. passed all requisite examinations;
  5. fulfilled the Senate-endorsed requirements (if any) prevailing at the time of the studies; and
  6. obtained a cGPA of at least 2.67.
