Aims This Programme, Master of Science in Applied Economics (MScAEcon), provides theoretical and applied training in economic analysis. By taking various applied electives, in addition to the theoretical cores, students will be trained to analysing economic issues relevant to their work.

A distinct feature of this MScAEcon Programme is the balanced training in economic knowledge. Specifically, this Programme aims at training:
  1. Competent applied economists: The Programme offers applied economic courses in Hong Kong. These courses will analyse the relevant areas using the latest economic models. The Programme curriculum also consists of courses for analysing the Chinese economy, which is the current focus of the world.
  2. Potential theoretical researchers: Although we expect that most students entering into this Programme are applied oriented, this Programme is also well structured to provide students the flexibility of choosing appropriate electives to cater for future research oriented studies.
