Important Information for Newly Admitted Taught Postgraduate Students
(For September 2019 Intake)

Welcome to the Hong Kong Baptist University! To prepare for your studies at HKBU, please take a moment to read through the following important information before the commencement of your studies.

 

15 August 2019

Single-Sign-on Account for IT Services (SSOid) #

You are required to activate your Single-Sign-on Account for IT Services (SSOid) to gain access to the University Cyber Port System (BUniPort). Please refer to the demo for activation of SSOid here.

University Cyber Port System (BUniPort) #

Through the BUniPort, you can access your HKBU email, study information, the library system as well as other IT services. To get started with the BUniPort, please click here to read the BUniPort Quick User Guide. You should access the BUniPort to keep your correspondence address, mobile phone number and emergency contact up-to-date

# Students are eligible to activate their SSOid and BUniport three working days subsequent to the receipt of the email acknowledgement of offer acceptance.

Application for the Hong Kong Identity (HKID) Card

Non-local students should apply for an HKID card within the first few days upon your arrival in Hong Kong. Please find out more information at Important Information for Non-local Students.

Registration for Newly Admitted Students

You should complete the registration and collect your student card before the commencement of your studies. Please click here to find the information in details.

Course Enrolment for Newly Admitted Taught Postgraduate Students

Please read through the webpage ‘Course Enrolment’. It is important to pay attention to the sections ‘Pre-registered Courses’ and 'Course Registration for Newly Admitted Taught Postgraduate Students'. You have to follow the steps in order to complete your course(s) registration for your studies. Please be reminded not to de-register the pre-registered courses which are required by your programme of study. Please consult the programme office if you wish to de-register the pre-registered courses and change your study schedule.

3 - 16 September 2019

Regular Course Add/Drop

All students are eligible to add/drop the courses/sections within the regular Add/Drop period. You may click here to find the information of course adding/dropping in details. Please be reminded not to de-register the pre-registered courses which are required by your programme of study. Please consult the programme office if you wish to de-register the pre-registered courses and change your study schedule

Application for Personalised Octopus with "Student Status" (MTR Student Travel Scheme)

This scheme is applicable for full-time students who have yet to reach the age of 26.

Academic Integrity Online Tutorial (AIOT)

You are required to complete an "Academic Integrity Online Tutorial (AIOT)" in the first two months after commencement of studies; or you would be barred from registering for courses in the next term. Please click here to find the information in details.

Submission of a copy of the Hong Kong Identity (HKID) Card*

Non-local students are required to upload a photocopy of the HKID card to the University Student Visa Application System in the first two months after commencement of studiesPlease note that the official academic records carry your HKID number. Without such information, the University will not issue any official academic records to you.
