Suspension and Withdrawal of Studies
Under special circumstances, you may be permitted to suspend your studies for a period of up to one year. This is granted in cases of health problems, financial difficulty, or urgent family affairs. For postgraduate students, job related problems may also be considered. In all cases, supporting documents together with an explanatory letter must be submitted to the Graduate School for approval normally no later than four weeks before the commencement of the semester/trimester/year examination.
Application Form for Suspension of Studies
Effective date of suspension is three days from the day of submission of the completed application. Upon expiration of the suspension period, you must return to your studies. If you fail to report to the Graduate School according to schedule, you will be classified as unofficially withdrawn.
If you intend to leave the University prior to graduation, you must apply for official withdrawal. If you leave the University without following the proper procedures, you will be considered as unofficially withdrawn. No official documents will be issued, and you will not be re-admitted under this status.
For official withdrawal, you must complete the clearance procedures at the department office, Library, Office of Student Affairs, Finance Office and Graduate School. Effective date of withdrawal is three days from the day of submission of the completed application.
